It’s that time of year again… almost time to head back to school. It’s always a total mix of feelings for me!! I’m super excited to see all my school friends, but kinda sad that summer and beach days are over. How about you??

Here’s an idea to liven up school this fall, and make a huge difference at the same time! Why not start a Do Something Club with your friends and classmates?? Do Something is a site full of great causes and ways to get involved in making a difference. (Check ‘em out at www.dosomething.org)

Do Something is also all about helping YOU get your very own world-changing ideas off the ground! They will give you all the tools and resources that you need to get going, AND you can apply for club grants to get some extra cash for your projects. All you need to do is gather at least 4 friends, brainstorm 2 awesome projects (come up with your own, or check out some of the Do Something campaigns), and submit your ideas at http://www.dosomething.org/clubs

Well, what are you waiting for?? Get your ideas heard, and your projects up and running with Do Something!

Looks like you’ve all been busy playing up a storm and building out the park!! I know I have! Thanks for all you hard work (and play!)… Now that you’ve had a chance to explore this brand new world for a while, we’re super curious about about what you think of The Rift!!

So are you as excited as me about the last Harry Potter movie?? It seems like The Deathly Hallows is all anyone is talking about lately! To keep up with all the Harry Potter madness this week, I’ve been searching the web for anything Hogwarts, and found something pretty sweet!

It’s called the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA), and it’s basically a real-life Dumbledore’s Army! They’re a group of fans (kids, teens, adults: witches, wizards and muggles alike) from around the world, who use ideas and values from the Harry Potter series to fight for social justice and make the world a more magical place.

The HPA works with charities and social organizations and organizes fundraisers to support all kids of different causes. They use facebook, twitter and their blog site to connect fans all over the world, and encourage them to come together and make a difference. Check ‘em out at http://thehpalliance.org/

As J.K Rowling once said “We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.”

Things are looking great on The Rift! The park is really coming along, thanks to all your hard work (and play!!), and the real-life park in Cabarete is underway! We’re super excited about that! And so are all the kids who live in Cabarete!! They can’t wait to start using it… but first we have to finish it up!

Together, we’re going to have a blast playing games, unlocking mysteries, and building parks for real kids who don’t have safe places to play!

Talk about being creative… I just read about this girl named Regina and her cow Luna.  Regina and Luna have been best friends for a super long time.  After spending loads of time together, Regina decided to see if it was possible to ride Luna like a horse… Well, surprise surprise… Luna now understands “go,” “stand” and “Gallop.”  Get this though… that’s not all Luna can do.  Luna also jumps with Regina on her back.  What a cow! What a girl!

I never thought I would say this, but I wish I had a cow friend of my own here on The Rift.  I may have to improvise…

We’ve been playing our favourite games, painting and doing all sorts of cool things.  Now, we are totally running out of ideas and we still can’t agree what’s more fun.

I have some exciting/weird news to tell you… Neel and I were walking down the beach when we spotted a few kidz in the distance.

As we got closer the kidz disappeared… We both saw them so I know I’m not losing it… but still!

Does anyone know where these kidz came from??? or where they went and if they’re coming back???

We are all dying to know what’s up!!!
